Spark Plug Ignition and Control System

1)  Remove the spark plug cap and the spark plug using the appropriate wrench. Note: If the spark plug is wet with fuel mixture, dry it with a rag and clean it with a jet of compressed air.
2 ) Remove carbon deposits from the center electrode and the ground electrode using a wire brush.
3 ) Adjust the air gap between the electrodes (0.6-0.7 mm) using the appropriate feeler gauge (Fig. 12).
4 ) Check whether the spark plug produces the spark necessary for combustion: Place the spark plug cap onto the spark plug, rest the threaded portion against the cylinder, and pull the starter rope.
5 ) If no spark occurs, check the conductivity as indicated in point 1) "Checking the spark plug cap".
If the conductivity is within normal range, replace the chainsaw or brush cutter spark plug with a new one and check again to see if the spark strikes.
